This racy web-series grabs your attention with both hands and refuses to let go. Working via Zoom from Los-Angeles because of Covid restrictions, director Nicolas Wendl still managed to bring together the individual elements of the series and weave them into a storming success.
Denise wants a divorce; Raymonde wants a husband. A simple scenario packed full of comedic potential. Boredom has worked its way into Denise’s marriage; her libido is at an all-time low and her husband has let the sweetness of romance go a little stale. Raymonde, however, is on the hunt for a partner. Unfortunately the online dating scene isn’t proving to be as fruitful as she had hoped.
The next week, Raymonde comes bearing a gift for her friend – something she hopes might help spice up Denise’s sex life. But Denise has something else on her mind: the barman. The day dream sequence that follows perfectly captures the comedy heart of Denise & Raymonde.
Raymond felt like she might have made some progress in her dating life, however there is one slight set-back. Her date has a huge tongue, and she finds this very off-putting when they kiss. Denise desperately tries to stop her friend giving up so quickly on the new venture. Together they help each other through their respective struggles over a glass of wine and some of tequila.
Lauriane Gilliéron as Denise and Marie Fontannaz as Raymonde work perfectly together as the best friends at the centre of the show. They bounce off each other with comedic flair and succeed in thoroughly entertaining the viewer. The overall production value of the series is extremely good; the crisp, polished finish feels very classy. The music from David Bertok is another great touch.
Overall, Denise and Raymonde is an extremely entertaining pocket-sized bundle of fun! Watch the trailer below!
