If you’ve made a film, I want to review it!

I provide reviews of independent films in order to help creators gain the recognition they deserve. I am trying to promote a new age of film reviewing wherein the fact that everyone has different likes, dislikes and opinions is openly discussed. This means I will honestly explore all aspects of the filmmakers’ creative process. In doing this, something wonderful, interesting or unique can always be uncovered.

Its dictionary definition is closely tied to the human elements – creativity and imagination. We make art to express ourselves, to express something to others, to intrigue, to horrify, and to mystify. It’s an abstract method of human communication wherein the message delivered is not totally decided by either the sender or the receiver, but an amalgamation of both entities’ experiences. But what happens when AI is used to make art? It seems there has been an explosion of this phenomenon in recent years, with artificial intelligence threatening to nullify the need for graphic designers, editors and other such jobs. The Photoshop “generative fill” is extremely clever, but it’s uncertain what this kind of technology means for those in the industry. Even more alarming than this is the fact that AI can now generate whole artworks from just a few prompts. Director Bryce Denney tells the story of how groups of singers struggled to keep their craft alive during the Covid-19 pandemic. Denney’s documentary is a really great way to remind us how people came together in times when we had to physically be apart. It also is a wonderful tribute to the many people who tried to make our lives just a little bit better during those times. Leaders of various groups didn’t just put their activities on hold, they tried to find ways around. After announcing a ground-breaking cancer cure, five members of the research team are targeted by an assassin hired by Big Pharma. When two researchers escape the attack, they soon find themselves framed for the crime and on the killer’s target list.
